Register for a Library Card

Library cards are issued to Albany County residents 18 and over with photo ID and proof of current, local address. (These can be the same document.) Minors may obtain a library card as long as a legal guardian can present these documents. Please fill out the form below.

The first library card is free of charge to Albany County residents. Replacement cards are $1.00

After your application has been processed, we will email your User ID and PIN number.

Note: If your photo ID does not include proof of permanent address within the county, please bring a separate proof of address. Examples include a physical OR digital utility bill, rent receipt or bank statement in your name.
